Rating Assessment Panel
Pickleball Canada strongly recommends that a player not be rated too low or too high, but rather based upon their current skill level. Pickleball Canada goes on to say, “The mantra for Clubs should be to provide “the very best games for players as possible”. This is the challenge for any Club.
The Assessment Rating Panel will be a three person team who have the following certifications/rating:
Left to Right:
Leo Gillich – Panel chairperson CTPR (Canadian Tournament Pickleball Rating) 4.1 rated player. lgillich@shaw.ca
Ian Brown – NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) Level 1 Instructor CTPR 4.46 rated player. jobster60@gmail.com
Kim Coleman - NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) Level 1 Instructor CTPR 4.49 rated player. energy2burn@hotmail.com

(Rating requests begin May 01 2024)
Penticton Pickleball players will Self Rate. If you wish to play in programs above 3.49, and you don't have a Club rating, then you may sign up to get a club rating (above). Until you are club rated, then you will be considered self rated. For self-rating purposes the rating descriptions below serve as a guide as well as the rating sheets provided by the Assessment Rating Panel under the Policy and Procedures tab titled “How to Self-Assess your skill level”.
